It was one of the first seven temples to be constructed inside the Jaisalmer fort, made out of yellow sandstone which provides it with a golden appearance made in the year 1509 AD with the signature Rajput style famous at that time.

The temple was constructed in devotion to the 8th Tirthankara Jain Prophet Chandraprabhu Ji, with well-connected walkways, corridors, intricately sculpted designs, and geometric patterns it is one of the most famous temples to visit in Jaisalmer.

 

  1.     Ramdev Temple

Situated in the Ramdevra village of Jaisalmer the Ramdev Temple is a building devoted to Baba Ramdev Ji who is worshiped by people from both religious groups Hindus and Muslims. While the Hindu people see him as the avatar of Lord Krishna the Muslim people worship him as Ramshah Pir.

The central idol in the Lodurva Temple is Lord Parshvanatha, carved out of black stone and surrounded by a hundred hooded snakes. The temple has intricately made carvings in stone which makes one wonder about how these would have been done at that time.
